1. Why would I want to own a division?

2. How is the team fee calculated?

$25 multiplied by max players per team.

That is the default team fee, but all divisions are different and since we are just starting out we are willing to negotiate team fees for anyone willing to own a division. Use the contact us form and tell us what you think is fair and will make it worth your while. We will be happy to schedule an in-person meeting or phone call.

Division owners may hold banquets, sever food, or incur costs and time promoting their division.

5. How do we get table time?

It is very common for billiard halls and sports bars to offer free table time because they are happy the leagues will consistently bring in customers during off hours. Often venues will also sponsor teams or an in-house division. Table time is outside the scope of SIMPLE POOL LEAGUE .COM. Division owners and teams are responsible for negotiating with venues and among themselves.

6. Are there any prizes?

There is no prize money collected and re-distributed through SIMPLE POOL LEAGUE .COM. The team fee is split between the division owner and SIMPLE POOL LEAGUE .COM to promote the division, fortify the data, and continually improve the online user experience. We appreciate your patronage. Division owners may wish to collect additional weekly or upfront fees to cover additional expenses or prize pools in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws at their own risk. Players pay such additional fees at their own risk.

7. Can I be a division owner?

Yes, anyone who clicks the add division button on the divisions tab can be a division owner.

8. What are my options when creating a division?

When creating a division there are many options including game type of 8-ball or 9-ball, how many players play per a match, max players per a team, in-house or maximum distance between venues, number of tables per a match, start time, start day of week, call pockets, handicapped or non-handicapped. Additionally division owners can specify any text in the notes to assert any unique rules / circumstances / requirements for their division.

The schedule is generated automatically a week before the first match of the season according to our proprietary dispersion scheduling algorithm.

10. Can a team join a division in the middle of the season?

Yes, a team can be added or removed in the middle of the season and the schedule can be regenerated by the division owner. When a team is added in the middle of the season, they receive losses for all weeks that have already occurred prior to joining the division.

11. I just added a division, why does my division not show up on the divisions tab?

By default, there is a check box on the divisions tab that only shows divisions with at least one fully funded team in the current or next season. If you uncheck the box, you will be able to see the division, add a team, and fund the team so the division will appear by default on the divisions tab.

12. How is max miles between venues enforced?

If the division owner sets max miles between venues to 0 then it is an in-house division and all matches are played in the same location. If it is greater than zero, then anytime a team adds or edits their address, it is compared with all other addresses on a geographical point to point basis with a straight line.

If you are a division owner we encourage you to suggest holidays in the contact us form especially if your division is in a country outside the United States.

Someone on the home team should log in and enter the scores. The division owner may also enter the scores for any match in their division. Each team should print out their pdf from the schedule page and bring it with them and keep score. At the end of the match someone from each team should take a picture of each score sheet. The away team can raise a dispute to the division owner from the site.

15. Does everyone have to pay with their credit card?

No, one person from a team can fund the whole team or the division owner can even fund the teams with their credit / debit card.
